Street fair comes to historic Enterprise Saturday with art, games, music, more

The Bowlby Bash returns to the downtown streets of Enterprise.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Enterprise’s Main Street becomes an esplanade. Stroll the downtown district for a day filled with shopping at vendor booths and merchants’ stores. Exhibitors, artists and artisans will display their wares and many one-of-a-kind items. Local restaurants and food booths are cooking up those good old favorites.

There will be demonstrations from the early pioneering days to present day activities in Wallowa County. The day’s festivities will include art demonstrations, sidewalk chalk art for the young and the young at heart, fun games for the kids and the Bowlby Bash Soap Box Derby.

Local musicians will play throughout the day. Enjoy the historic courthouse and downtown guided “Tour Through Time,” and learn about the history of the Bowlby stone and how it impacted  Enterprise’s architecture.

The Enterprise Public Library celebrates its 100th year in the Carnegie Building with an open house from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Enjoy activities including a scavenger hunt, door prizes, quilt raffle drawing and historical information about the library.

The fourth annual Bowlby Bash Derby will roll on Main Street Enterprise Saturday afternoon, but first on Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. there is a safety inspection and time trial at the Enterprise High School shop parking lot, Fifth and Main streets. All cars and drivers must pass a safety inspection before participating.

On Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon is the Show and Shine by the courthouse gazebo. Portraits will be taken at 11:30 a.m. At noon, the Derby Parade to Ward Park starts and finishes at the Enterprise High shop parking lot.
