JOSEPH — The speaker at the Feb. 6 Brown Bag at the Josephy Center in Joseph will be the owners of Alder Slope Nursery. Nathan Slinker and Asch Humphrey, after years of college and some college teaching by Nathan and agency work in natural resources by Asch, moved back to Wallowa County to take over Alder Slope Nursery from Nathan’s parents, Pam and Randy Slinker. They are about to embark on their second season and will talk Tuesday about coming back to the land and their plans for being part of the new agrarian evolution. UC Democrats plan to attend city council meeting Feb. 7

La Grande City Council meeting to support the Union County Health Care Resolution. The resolution, with 260 signatures, asks the Oregon Legislature to present universal, publicly funded health care for all to a vote of the people in 2020. Gardening class covers weeds and resources

ISLAND CITY — The OSU Master Gardener program offers the community opportunities to expand gardening knowledge.
