BAKER CITY — The Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative Board of Directors will meet at 9 a.m. March 20 at OTEC headquarters, 4005 23rd St., Baker City. The board will hear a legislative update via teleconference and is scheduled to make a decision on policy committee recommendations, on Tariff Rule K and on appointing a voting delegate for the NWPPA annual meeting.

GRH Auxiliary welcomes new members

LA GRANDE — Grande Ronde Hospital Auxiliary’s March meeting will be held at the Island City City Hall March 19. Refreshments will be available at 9 a.m., and the meeting begins at 9:30 a.m.

Master Gardener class open to the public

ISLAND CITY — The OSU Master Gardener program is a great chance to expand your gardening knowledge. The next class will run from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. March 20. David Cowan will lead “Lawn Care for the Homeowner” in the conference room at the OSU Extension, Union County office, 10507 N. McAlister Road, Island City. HQ hosts live music

LA GRANDE – Each year around this time, La Grande welcomes many traveling musicians on their way to perform at the massive Treefort Music Festival in Boise, Idaho. With support from local businesses, hq will open its door for three nights of cover-free music from some of the hottest emerging musicians on tour today. March 20 features Portland’s The Mutineers and Catskills, of La Grande, made up by Gregory Rawlins, Wayne Callahan, Jeff Grammer and Andy Steele. Wednesday evening brings Portland’s New Move and Boise’s Nick Delffs. Bay Area bands The Brankas, Everyone is Dirty and Battlehooch will wrap up the three nights on March 22.

By providing access to engaging art and cultural programming, hq, hopes to catalyze connections and engagement from our communities and focus that energy downtown. An active and creative downtown creates a positive impact on our quality of life and the downtown economy while letting visiting artists and guests that we care about art, culture, and life in the Grande Ronde Valley.

All welcome at Old-Time Community Dance

ENTERPRISE — Saturday’s Old-Time Community Dance at Odd Fellows Hall, 105 NE First St., Enterprise will feature a live band of local musicians and a caller to walk participants through squares, circles, reels, contras and waltzes. No partner or special clothing are necessary. The family-friendly event runs from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will include potluck snacks. Admission at the door is $5, or $10 for families. Kids age 12 and younger get in free. Volunteers to help set up and clean up are always welcome.

Imbler Board to meet Tuesday

IMBLER — The Imbler School District Board of Directors will meet for a regular session at 7 p.m. March 2 in Room 1 of the high school. The public is welcome to attend all open sessions of the Imbler School Board.
