A new lodging option for those visiting Eastern Oregon for the Aug. 21 solar eclipse is soon to be available, with Eastern Oregon University opening up space in its residential halls for visitors.
The university is also planning on connecting visitors with the community through its outdoor program and will provide brochures about what there is to do around town.
The rooms are available for rental from Aug. 19 through Aug. 22 for $500 total, which must be paid in full at the time of reservation. The rooms hold up to five people and include kitchenettes, with a full refrigerator and microwave.
“We want to make sure people can enjoy all that La Grande and the surrounding area has to offer,” Lacy Karpilo, EOU’s director of student affairs, said.
For the complete story, see the July 19 edition of The Observer.
Reservations, and more detailed information about what Eastern Oregon University will offer eclipse viewers, will be available after July 21. In the meantime, those interested may contact EOU at 541-962-3635. After July 21, reservations may be made at www.eou.edu/events.
