Jace Schow delivered a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning to score Cole Schafer to lift the La Grande All-Stars to a 3-2 win over Montana Monday in the Little League Baseball Northwest Regional Tournament in San Bernardino, California.
Schafer led off the inning with a double to left field. After a pair of outs, Schow drove a 1-1 pitch from Montana’s Kaden Sheridan to center field, setting off a wild celebration at home plate by the Oregon state champions.
La Grande fell behind 2-0 after the top of the second inning, but Cesar Rodriguez, who led LaGrande with three hits, erased the deficit with a two-run home run to center field that scored Noah Mcllmoil.
Sam Tsiatsos earned the win for Oregon, throwing 2-2/3 scoreless innings in relief.
La Grande moves on in the winner’s bracket and will play Thursday against Walla Walla, Washington at noon.
