Enterprise wrestlers Shane Lund and Cole Farwell both picked up titles at the Rollin Schimmel Memorial Saturday in Pendleton.

Lund (120 pounds) received a double-bye to the semifinals, where he beat Liberty’s Eliyjah Slaughter by fall, then pinned Riverside’s Abraham Silva in 4:22 for the championship.

Farwell (132) pinned Liberty’s Jacob Winchester in the quarterfinals, earned a 10-0 major decision over Pendleton’s Chris Chambers in the semifinals and topped Liberty’s James Liberty by fall for the title.

Two other grapplers placed for the Outlaws. Dylan Staigle took fourth at 145 with a 2-2 record, reaching the semifinals before dropping his final two matches. Trace Evans took fifth at 132, dropping his first match before finishing three straight victories..

As a team, Enterprise took eighth with 80 points.

Three Outlaws win
at Pomeroy

Three Enterprise wrestlers finished in first place as the Outlaws came in fifth at the Pomeroy Christmas Tournament Friday.

Shane Lund coasted to the championship at 120 pounds with pins in all three of his matches, including over Clarkston, Idaho, wrestler Mick Brown; Potlach, Idaho, wrestler Jim Clark; and over Joseph/Wallowa’s Zeb
Ramsden in the final.

Cole Farwell recorded two pins in three matches to win at 132. He started with a 15-0 technical fall over Clearwater Valley, Idaho, wrestler Brett Raymond, then pinned Grangeville, Idaho’s Ryan Cox before pinning Orofino, Idaho, grappler Brayden Turcott in the finals.

Dylan Staigle gave the Outlaws their third title at 138. Staigle opened with a pin of Union/Cove’s Carter Blackburn, then pinned Pomeroy, Idaho, wrestler John Hammond and finished with a pin over Union/Cove’s Daniel Devore.

Klint Norton added a 2-2 finish to take fourth for Enterprise at 285. Hafizh Al Farizi was 1-2 to take fourth at 195, and Drew Widener was fifth at 195.

The Outlaws finished as a team with 112.5 points.

Joseph/Wallowa, with 61.5 points, took eighth. Steven Beckman reached the finals at 113 with a pin over Colfax/Garfield-Palouse/St. John’s Kolby Sisk and a 3-0 decision over Clearwater Valley’s Johnnie Raymond, but suffered a pin in the finals to Clarkston’s Justin Smith.

Ramsden was 3-1 at 120, pinning Orofino’s Andrew Anderson, earning a 5-0 decision over Heppner’s Trevor Antonucci and pinning Clearwater Valley’s Tristin Dominguez before running into Lund.

Austin Brockamp also scored for Joseph/Wallowa, going 3-3 to take sixth at 160, and Cole Kiesecker went 1-2 to take sixth at 220.

Union/Cove was ninth with 49 points. Devore was the Bobcats’ top placer with his second-place finish at 138. He earned win’s by fall over Orofino’s Jacob Strahan and Pomeroy’s Gavin Gould before falling to Staigle.

Jaxson Blackburn went 3-1 to take third at 126. After a quarterfinal loss, Blackburn finished with three straight wins, including a victory by fall over Heppner’s Leo Waite in the third-place match.

Carter Blackburn, meanwhile, finished in fifth at 138 by going 2-2, and Riley Bruce was fifth at 170, also with a 2-2 mark.

All three teams are in action next at the Jo-Hi Invitational Friday in Joseph.
