La Grande went 1-2 in pool play to take third in its pool, then fell to Henley in its first match of bracket play Saturday at the Sisters Invitational.
The Tigers swept Madras in pool play, but were later swept by North Bend and the host Outlaws.
When it reached bracket play, La Grande lost to Henley, 25-12, 25-21.
Claire Hardy had five kills and five digs against the Hornets. Liz Cashell led on defense with nine digs.
During pool play, Hardy led the attack with 20 kills, including 13 against Madras. Williams and Haley Hatley each had 19 assists. Alyssa McDowell had 21 digs and 10 kills, and Cashell added 18 digs.
“It was great competition,” La Grande head coach Melinda Becker-Bisenius said. “It was great for our team to get to see some other 4A schools.”
La Grande (5-5 overall) travels to Grant Union Tuesday.
Leopards drop a pair: The Cove volleyball team suffered a pair of Old Oregon League losses, falling to Echo, 9-25, 25-16, 25-17, 25-14, and to Griswold, 18-25, 25-19, 27-25, 25-22.
“We are just making too many unforced errors,” head coach Darcy Carreiro said. “The other team puts a little bit of pressure on us and we get a little panicky.”
Against the Cougars, Cove was led by Maggie Ledbetter, who had 11 kills, seven digs and five assists. Ellie Hines Dunlap had 15 assists, six digs, and three kills. Taylor Fett added 19 digs.
Against the Grizzlies, Ledbetter had 12 kills and 10 assists. Rebekah Farrell recorded seven kills, six digs and three blocks.
Cove (5-10 overall, 1-5 OOL) host Nixyaawii and Pine Eagle Friday.
Outlaws fall at Grant Union: Enterprise ran into a tough Grant Union squad and was swept Saturday, 25-14, 25-8, 25-20.
Heidi Niezen had 13 digs for the Outlaws, and Gracie Niezen had nine blocks.
“I was proud of my squad for their hard work, but GU is tough to beat if you can’t get your offense going,” head coach Lisa Farwell said.
The Outlaws (4-9 overall, 0-2 Wapiti) host Imbler Tuesday.
Huskies dropped by Prospectors: Elgin fell on the road against Grant Union, 25-14, 25-15, 25-4.
Stats were not provided.

Powder Valley finishes week 4-0: The Badgers finished a busy week in Wallowa, where they defeated the Cougars 25-21, 25-23, 17-25, 25-23, to go 4-0 on the week in Old Oregon League play.
“This was a great start to league play,” head coach Marji Lind said. “It was a tremendous effort by the entire squad that showed perseverance through tough games and physical and emotional fatigue.”
The Badgers tallied 41 digs, 29 kills and 11 aces. Stats were not provided for Wallowa.
Powder Valley (13-9 overall, 4-0 OOL) will play at home Friday against Joseph. Wallowa (4-5, 3-2) hosts Echo Friday.
Badgers take down Leopards: Powder Valley recovered after dropping the first set and earned an Old Oregon League win over Cove Friday, 20-25, 25-16, 25-22, 25-21.
The Badgers registered 16 aces and 26 kills.
The Leopards were led by Maggie Ledbetter who had 20 kills, 12 assists, seven digs and one block. Rebekah Farrell also pitched in with seven kills and five digs, and Raegan Duby tallied 35 digs.
Outlaws fall to Union: Ashten Wright put down 16 kills as Union shook off a first-set loss to top Enterprise in Wapiti League action, 24-26, 25-17, 25-16, 25-13. Ellie Clark added nine kills and 17 digs for the Bobcats.
Riley Gray had 18 digs for Enterprise. Ashley Exon added 13 digs.
“We played a great first set, but couldn’t keep our momentum through the rest of the match,” Enterprise head coach Lisa Farwell said. “We gave them too many free balls, didn’t play aggressively enough at the net through Sets 2-4, and didn’t make Union play enough defense.”
Union (10-1 overall, 2-0 Wapiti) faces Elgin Thursday.
Eagles tame Cougars: Emma Hite collected 12 kills, four blocks and two aces as the Eagles earned a 25-11, 25-21, 28-26 win over Wallowa.
Sabrina Albee had six kills, two aces and eight assists for Joseph, and Alexis Sykora added seven kills. Stats were not available for Wallowa.
Joseph (11-7 overall, 5-1 OOL) heads to Powder Valley Friday.
