Below are the scores from today's prep football action featuring Union or Wallowa county teams with an explanation of the playoff scenarios in each league.

Greater Oregon League

Ontario 35, La Grande 7

What it means: Ontario takes home the GOL title outright, ending La Grande’s run of three years in a row of either winning outright or tying for the league championship. LHS will host a state play-in next Friday night against an opponent yet to be determined.

Wapiti League

Union 20, Imbler 12

Grant Union 54, Enterprise 6

What it means: Despite the loss, Enterprise can still clinch a playoff berth if it can beat Imbler next week at home in the season finale, as it already owns the head-to-head tiebreaker with Union. A win by Imbler, coupled with a Union loss, would result in a three-way tie for second place, which would then come down to tiebreaker.

Old Oregon League

Wallowa 74, Powder Valley 6

Echo 36, Cove 24

Joseph 32, Pine Eagle 20

What it means: Wallowa, Echo and Cove are the top three seeds to next week’s district playoff. Wallowa will meet Crane, the High Desert League champion, for the district title, but both have already clinched state playoff berths. Echo, as the No. 2 of the OOL, will face Harper, the No. 3 from the HDL, for a playoff berth, and Cove, the OOL’s No. 3, will face Adrian, the No. 2 of the HDL, for a playoff berth.
