Susan Parrish (Freelance reporter)
Susan is a freelance reporter for The Observer who writes about people in North Powder and Union as well as education, health, science, business and outdoors stories. She has been writing for The Observer since fall 2016. Previously, she was the education reporter at The Columbian, the daily newspaper in Vancouver, Washington. She earned her journalism degree from Western Washington University. Susan grew up on a sheep ranch near Chewelah, Washington. She has enjoyed returning to rural life and the myriad outdoor adventures available in Eastern Oregon. Her latest pursuit is learning to fly fish from a kayak.
