ENTERPRISE — A bill introduced in Congress this week would make recreation a top priority for all federal land management agencies.

If passed, the “Recreation, Not Red Tape,” or RNR, Act introduced by U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Oregon, in the Senate and by Rep. Rob Bishop, R-Utah, in the House of Representatives, will remove barriers to outdoor recreation and boost rural economies across the country.

In an Oregon-wide media conference call July 26, Sen. Wyden said recreation is an extraordinarily powerful
economic engine for the state.

“The focus of the bill is to get more folks outside and enjoying public lands,” Wyden said.
