Former Island City City Recorder Judy Rygg will check in to the Union County jail at 1:30 p.m. this afternoon to begin serving her 20 day jail time after her sentencing hearing today.

Rygg, who pleaded guilty to four felony charges a week ago, will be able to apply to be on the work crew for 10 of those days, but whether she is approved is up to the Union County Sheriff's Office.

Rygg also has 24 months of supervised probation and must undergo a mental health evaluation and submit her complete financial records to her probation officer.

A restitution hearing will take place in November to determine how much Rygg will have to pay back to the City of Island City.
