JOSEPH — For 15 years the Simply Sandy’s signs on Joseph’s Main Street have been a fixture. As Sandy Warnock passes her landmark downtown shop on to two budding entrepreneurs, she said her customers will receive the same service and selection of country home furnishings they have come to expect.

Jill McClaran is best known for the beef she and her family raise in the remote reaches of northern Wallowa County, but when she noticed Simply Sandy’s was for sale, she said she thought buying the business would be a good opportunity.

“I know I can’t do it by myself, so I asked my friend Emily Cunningham if she wanted to help,” McClaran said.

She not only raises beef, but is an active leader in Oregon’s cattle industry requiring travel. She said she will continue working for the ranch and be at Simply Sandy’s part-time, sharing responsibilities of running the popular store with Cunningham.
