Children invited to themed mini-camps

LA GRANDE — La Grande Parks and Rec is hosting three themed mini-camps this summer for children age four, five and six. There will be crafts, games and prizes tailored to favorite movies at the Rotary Pavilion in Pioneer Park. Finding Dory will be on June 29, Trolls will be July 13 and The Incredibles 2 will be Aug. 24. The camps go from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and cost $5 per child.

Eagle Cap Train offers rides for Father’s Day

ELGIN — The Eagle Cap Excursion Train has two trips on the schedule for Father’s Day Weekend, June 16 & 17. Both rides begin at the Elgin Depot, 300 Depot St., and include the excitement of a train robbery by the Gold Rush Bandits –– on horseback. A box lunch is served during Saturday’s trip, and Sunday’s ride includes a delicious full dinner, featuring smoked beef brisket. LA GRANDE — Northeast Oregon Public Transit is currently seeking volunteer drivers in Union County to deliver rides for the Rides to Wellness and Veteran Rides to Wellness programs. Fundraiser Father’s Day Dinner helps renovate 4-H Center

SUMMERVILLE — There will be a Blue Mountain 4-H Father’s Day Dinner from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on June 17 at the Blue Mountain 4-H Center, 66501 End Rd. in Summerville. The tickets are $25 and will include a tri-tip dinner, entertainment, a raffle and a dessert auction. Raffle tickets are $5 or five for $20 and the drawing will be held at the dinner.
