The La Grande Police Department is looking for two suspects after an assault at the Thunderbird Apartments Monday night.
According to a press release from LGPD, initial reports said a victim had been shot in the face. However, once medics arrived at the scene, it was revealed the victim, who is 17 years old, was injured by blunt force. There was also a second victim, 18, at the scene who also sustained facial injuries via blunt force.
According to witnesses, someone multiple gunshots had been fired. The release indicates there was evidence to confirm that. The two suspects from the assault had fled before police arrived.
Leonel Orlando Martinez, 29, Hispanic, and Eric Hans-Austin Walling Jr., 18, white, are the two suspects and are known by the police. They both have Union County warrants out for their arrest.
According to court documents, Martinez was charged in 2017 for possession of meth and third-degree escape. He is on probation until March 2020.
Martinez is described as 5'05, 145 pounds.
Walling's most recent arrest was in Baker County in 2018 for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Walling is described as 5'10, 185 pounds.
The vehicle they were last seen in a black or blue 2014 Hyundai Veloster 2-door with Oregon license plate 422KMH.

LGPD was assisted by Union County Sheriff's Office, Oregon State Police, Union County District Attorney's Office and the Union County Emergency Management. The investigation is ongoing.
