UNION — Oregon Trail Electric Co-op announced

a power outage in the
La Grande District Thursday. At 9:47 a.m. Jan. 3, multiple power outages in the Union area were reported affecting approximately 150 members. The cause of the outage was due to high winds. In order to make the necessary repairs, the line that feeds Union, Pyles Canyon and High Valley was deenergized, resulting in approximately 1,331 members losing power. Repairs were estimated to take a little more than an hour but additional problems found on the line caused delays. Power was restored to all members by 1:30 p.m.

OTEC reminds the public to always think safety first and stay away from downed power lines. To report an outage or the cause of any outage call 1-866-430-4265.
