Tuesday’s Brown Bag goes below surface of Lostine River
JOSEPH — For the Aug. 14 Josephy Brown Bag, Mary Edwards, retired biologist and photographer with the Nez Perce Tribe Fisheries Research Division, will present “Below the Liquid Line,” a summary of her 16 years in (not “on”) the Lostine River. Edwards spent much of her fisheries career assisting in the recovery of spring Chinook salmon, which required snorkeling the Lostine from the confluence up to Turkey Flat to collect juvenile salmon for the recovery program. Edwards’ talk accompanies a month-long art exhibit featuring photos and paintings of the Lostine River corridor. Brown Bags are free and begin at noon at the Josephy Center on Main Street in Joseph. Bring a lunch if you like.
