A 22-year-old La Grande man is still missing and Oregon State Police is asking for the public’s help.

Jacob Aaron Cartwright, La Grande, was supposed to be in Nyssa by 7:30 a.m. Thursday morning with his white semi-trailer. He is driving a commercial motor vehicle with the license plate YAIN63. However, his last contact was Wednesday afternoon when he was in the Pendleton area and he has not been heard of since.

Cartwright’s GPS information for the CMV was in the area of Highway 233 near Macintyre Road, which is just south of
Hilgard State Park, according to a press release from OSP.

The area has been searched by OSP aircraft and by ground rescue personnel. The area is very remote, heavily wooded with rough terrain and very expansive, according to an OSP press release.

Union County Search and Rescue is attempting to locate Cartwright with the assistance of OSP and the Union County Sheriff’s Office.

If Cartwright or the CMV is seen, the public is urged to contact UCSO at 541-963-1017.
