LA GRANDE — The First Landmark Missionary Baptist Church of La Grande has changed its Sunday evening worship service to 3 p.m. The 5 p.m. service will no longer be held.

Special tribute to men given

LA GRANDE — First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of La Grande will celebrate Father’s Day with Stephanie Bare doing a special tribute to the men of the congregation during the worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday. Pastor Ray Smith’s message, “One Small Word,” will look at Matthew 16:13. The focus will be on Jesus as our standard, worthy to be followed.

Housing Matters meets Monday

LA GRANDE — Zion Lutheran Church in La Grande will worship Sunday at 9:30 a.m. with Pastor Colleen Nelson. Fellowship and fair trade coffee will follow.

Housing Matters Union County will meet from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at Northeast Oregon Public Transit, 2204 E. Penn Ave., La Grande. on Monday at 7 p.m. a Bible study will meet at the home of Caty Lease in Summerville. Tuesday a non-denominational Bible study will meet at 6:15 p.m. at the church.

Grace Bible Church VBS begins next week

LA GRANDE — God’s Covenant Plan will be the theme of the Vacation Bible School program at Grace Bible Church, 1114 Y Ave., in La Grande. It will run from 10 a.m. to noon from June 25 to June 29 and will be available to children kindergarten through eighth grade. Ice cream social honors Father’s Day

LA GRANDE — La Grande native Molly Deatherage will be conducting the Sunday morning worship service at the First Presbyterian Church at 9:30 a.m. Deatherage currently serves the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. Communion will be served. There will be an ice cream social honoring Father’s Day in the parlor following the service.

Guest speaker tells how she has been set free

Ora Rollins will be the guest speaker tomorrow, Saturday, at the Seventh-day Adventist Church at 11 a.m. She will speak of how she’s seen God’s miraculous transforming power set her free to live for Jesus. Her message will be “Resurrection Aftermath.” A Bible study will take place before the service at 9:30 a.m.
