Little League season kicks of with parade Saturday

LA GRANDE — The
La Grande Little League season opens April 27 with a parade on Adams Avenue. Adams will be closed to traffic between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. The community is invited to cheer on this year’s young athletes.

GRH offers free blood screenings in La Grande

LA GRANDE — Free community blood screenings will be offered at the GRH Pavilion at 909 Adams Ave. in downtown La Grande between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. April 27. The screenings encompass more than $150 worth of free blood testing. Screenings will be filled on a first come first served basis to the first 100 people. A 9-12 hour fast is required (participants should drink plenty of fresh water to stay hydrated). Fundraising dinner supports football, wrestling

LA GRANDE —
La Grande High School is hosting a football and wrestling fundraising dinner from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. April 25 in the LHS Commons. Tickets — which are still available at the door for the all-you-can-eat Mexican dinner and ice cream feed — cost $20 for adults and $10 for youth. A ticket purchase also includes a free car wash at Island Express. A silent auction will also be held at the event, with items including a Traeger barbecue, a house painting, a bed and breakfast opportunity, an 8,500-pound winch and more.

Survey seeks input on parking in downtown La Grande

LA GRANDE — La Grande Main Street Downtown’s Business Development Committee is working with the City of La Grande to gather input and information regarding parking downtown. The committee will be distributing copies of the surveys to downtown businesses and their employees over the next few weeks. The community is also encouraged to participate in the survey, which is available at www.lagrandemainstreet.org/parking-survey. class="Apple-converted-space">

The survey will run until May 19. At the end of the survey period, the Business Development Committee will analyze and summarize the information and report the findings to the local media and the city.

LHS Class of ’59 meeting changed to Monday

LA GRANDE — The La Grande High School Class of 1959’s lunch meeting has been moved to April 29. Members will meet at noon at the Cock & Bull Restaurant in Pat’s Alley.
