A Union man is in jail and faces charges for his alleged actions related to a bomb threat at the Union County Courthouse earlier this week, according to a press release from the La Grande Police Department.

Scott Lee, 50, was arrested Friday morning by the La Grande Police Department Detective Division, and has been charged with disorderly conduct I, initiating a false report and obstructing governmental justice. Lee is currently lodged in the Union County Jail.

At 9:47 a.m. on June 11, Union County dispatch received a call from a male caller that there were bombs set to detonate in 30 minutes in the courthouse. After an evacuation of the building, a search was completed that found no suspicious items.

LGPD and the Union County Sheriff’s Office conducted a two-day investigation that led to Scott’s arrest, according to the press release.
