Play bingo in Union on Wednesdays
UNION — The Union VFW hosts bingo every Wednesday night at High Valley Post 4060, 518 N. Main St. Doors open at 5 p.m. Early-bird games begin at 6 p.m., and the regular session follows at 7 p.m. The last game of the night is blackout and can pay up to $500 if won within the first 50 numbers. All are welcome.
GRH Clinics offer free sports physicals
UNION COUNTY — Students in fourth through 12th grades may take advantage of free sports physicals at Grande Ronde Hospital’s clinics in La Grande, Union and Elgin this summer. College students will receive a discount of $50 on physicals at the clinics on any of the scheduled free sports physical days. Let the lift take your bike to the top
ANTHONY LAKES — Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort is offering lift-served mountain biking on July 6, Aug. 3 and Sept. 7. Between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., let the lift take you and your bike to the Broadway flow trail. Cost is $20 for the day or $8 for one ride. Nominations are open for summer Beautification Awards Program
LA GRANDE — The City of La Grande Community Landscape and Forestry Commission’s Beautification Awards Program recognizes efforts to maintain and improve the beauty of La Grande ’ s environment through landscape maintenance and design. Nominations for the summer awards are now open for residential and commercial properties that have been carefully landscaped and attract the viewer. These landscapes must be seen from public access and can include one or more of the following criteria: integrating colors and textures, appropriate use of hardscapes, good use of space, resource conservation, wildlife habitat, seasonal diversity, food production, owners that have overcome special circumstances. Nomination forms are available at the Parks and Recreation Department, 2402 Cedar St., or at www.lagrandeparks.org. Nominations must be returned, in person or by email to firstname.lastname@example.org, by July 25.
