The man in the photo has not been identified. He stole an sex toy from Desires on Washington Avenue.

Just before the store closed on Oct. 2, Desires on Washington Avenue in La Grande caught a man on tape shoplifting from the store. The unidentified man put a sex toy in his pocket before walking out the door at 7:50 p.m.

According to the store’s house manager, Lindsey Willis, they did not see the security footage of the man stealing until the next morning.

The item in question was a male masturbator sleeve, and costs between $30 to $60 depending on which brand of toy he stole.

“We aren’t 100% sure yet what he took,” the store’s resource manager, Jeremiah Marshall, said.

The security camera footage posted to the store’s Facebook page shows a white male with dark hair and a beard on his chin, wearing a dark shirt and pants. There are rumors of who the person is, but none have been confirmed at this time, according to Marshall.

The store is asking for community help in identifying the man in the video.

A report has been filed with the La Grande Police Department but no suspects have been found. At this time the store is choosing not to launch a criminal investigation into the theft and will handle it civilly, according to Lt. Gary Bell at LGPD.

A photo of the man can be seen at and additional photos and video are available on Desire’s Facebook page.
