ENTERPRISE — Fire season got off to an early start Tuesday, May 23, when a lightning storm sparked a 5.5-acre wildfire about 20 miles northeast of Enterprise.

Tracy Brostrom, unit forester for the Oregon Department of Forestry’s Wallowa Unit, said that a quick response by his firefighters and colleagues from the U.S. Forest Service extinguished the blaze quickly.
