In the early 20th century Jean Birnie began leading all-female horse packing trips into the Wallowa Mountains. The “Horsewomen of the Hen Party” follows her descendants as they head out on a pack trip into the Eagle Cap Wilderness to celebrate Birnie and the love of nature she passed on to them.
Following the screening of the half-hour episode, audience members will have the opportunity to engage in a moderated question and answer session.
The screening will take place April 3 at 6 p.m. at McKenzie Theatre in Loso Hall at Eastern Oregon University. Doors will open at 5:15 p.m.
