UNION COUNTY — Fourth of July festivities kicked off early in Union County.

The day began with the second annual Fun Run in Imbler with runners taking on either the 5-kilometer or 1-mile race.

The Imbler-Summerville Parade got off to a roaring start with a flyover at noon. Participants of all ages enjoyed the parade — collecting candy and getting soaked with water guns.

The parade was followed by a barbecue at the Imbler Christian Church and a vendor fair along Main Street.

Once the Independence Day festivities wrapped up in Imbler those looking to continue the fun headed over to Union for the cornhole contest and vendor fair.

The full day of celebration ended with a bang with the annual Thunder at the Peak fireworks show at Buffalo Peak Golf Course.
