ENTERPRISE – A fire entirely consumed a family home outside of Enterprise Monday afternoon.

According to Enterprise Fire Chief Paul Karvoski, the fire department was dispatched at 12:39 p.m. Joseph Fire was paged just a few minutes later. By the time the fire engines arrived at the home of Ken and Annie Nash on Alder Slope, a neighborhood dotted with farms at the base of Ruby Peak, the house was completely engulfed in flames.

Annie Nash was home at the time of the blaze, Karvoski said, and Ken Nash arrived just ahead of the fire engines.

“The fire started in the northwest corner of the house and the wind was blowing west to east at about 15 miles per hour,” Karvoski said. “When we got there the entire house was fully involved.”

The firefighters fought the fire for an hour, but it became evident that the home couldn’t be saved. The homeowners told Karvoski it was time to let it go.
