Juanita L. (Hickerson) Rose
Juanita Larie Rose, 60, of La Grande, died Feb. 8 at her residence. No service is planned at this time.
Juanita was born May 26, 1958, in Baker City, to Beverly (Houge) Hickerson. She resided in Elgin and La Grande and graduated from Cove High School. Juanita married Kelly Matott. They divorced, and she later married Donald Rose.
Juanita was a waitress at the Flying J Restaurant. She enjoyed barrel racing and making crafts using stained glass.
Survivors include her children, Amanda Garcia of Emmett, Idaho, Joshua Matott of Walla Walla, Washington, Mariah Rose of La Grande, Danielle Rose of Pendleton and Jim Rose of Twin Falls, Idaho; sisters, Theresa Taylor of Washington and Brenda Brown of Monmouth; 13 grandchildren; and seven nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband,
Donald Rose; ex-husband, Kelly Matott; mother, Beverly; and sister, Teana Hickerson.

Dorothea Anna Claudine Dixon, 88, of Union, died Feb. 23 at her home. As she requested, there will not be a public service. Interment will be at the Union Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life
Dorothea was born July 9, 1930, at the French Hospital in Los Angeles,
California, to Emmanual and Laura Eleanora Christine (Hoffman) Roberts. She graduated from George Washington High School in Los Angeles in 1949.
On Nov. 14, 1952, Dorothea married Albert Bruce Dixon at the Florence
Avenue United Presbyterian Church in Los
Angeles. They lived in various places including Lancaster/Quartz Hill, California, and Southern Idaho. They moved to Union in 2006. Dorothea had a great love of family, dogs and Jesus. Her greatest joy was raising three grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Albert Dixon of Union; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Mike Eslinger of Watertown, South Dakota; son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Stacey Dixon of Union; and nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her children, Linda Dixon and Bruce Dixon.
