Levi W. Owen
Levi Wayne Owen, 20, of La Grande, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at his residence. A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Loveland Funeral Chapel.
Levi was born on August 6, 1998 in Hermiston, Oregon to Steven West and J. Renee Owen. He attended Fernley High School (Nevada) and was never married. Levi worked as a computer technician for his father at Steve’s Outdoor Adventures and was a ballistician in training at Pendleton Ammunition. He enjoyed online gaming, shooting, and hunting. Levi loved making his loved ones smile.
Levi is survived by his parents Steven West and J. Renee Owen; sisters, Randi Owen and Korrisa Duff; brothers, Adrion Yekel and Les Brown II; grandparents Robert and Katherine West, and numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by grandmother, M. Jewel Owen many years ago, and his uncle Randy Osborn who died in 1989.
The family asks that donations be made to the Space Camp Scholarship Fund, U.S. Space & Rocket Center Education Foundation, One Tranquility Base, Huntsville, AL 35805 in Levi’s name. He enjoyed learning about space and was fascinated by the universe.

Dollie V. (Lund) Bristow
Dollie Viona Bristow, 97, of Cove, died May 28 at the Grande Ronde Retirement Residence. A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. June 10 at Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center in La Grande. A potluck lunch will follow at the Cove Sportsman Club for family and friends.
Dollie was born March 11, 1922, in Oacoma, South Dakota, to Christopher and Ella (Ernest) Lund. When she was a young child the family moved to Northern Idaho, where they picked fruit. In 1940, Dollie married George Bristow in Sandpoint, Idaho, and they moved to Cove in 1945.
Dollie picked cherries and worked at Payless and at the trailer factory. She was a member of the Cove Sportsman Club. She enjoyed outdoor activities, including huckleberry and mushroom picking and fishing.
Surviving relatives include her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Randy Botham of Cove; sister, Betty Rutherford of Sandpoint, Idaho; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Bristow, in 1991; son, Kenneth Bristow; and six siblings.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cove Sportsman Club.

Christina M. Dowdy, 92, of La Grande, died May 30 at a local care facility. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. June 10 at Loveland Funeral Chapel. An obituary is forthcoming. Loveland Funeral Chapel & Crematory is handling the arrangements.
Mickel D. Voss
Mickel D. Voss, 62, of Summerville, died June 3 at his residence. An obituary is forthcoming. Loveland Funeral Chapel & Crematory will be handling the arrangements.
Ruby F. (Huntley) Stanger
Ruby Frances Stanger, 79, of La Grande, died May 23 at a local care facility. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. June 8 at the Desert Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Irrigon.
Ruby was born June 4, 1939, in Whitneyville, Maine, to Kenneth and Elizabeth (Jones) Huntley. She studied at South Eastern University and earned a degree in geology.
Ruby was taught how to fly fixed winged airplanes and helicopters at the age of 8 by her two uncles, who were in the Navy at the time. She flew helicopters while fighting forest fires for the Oregon Department of Forestry.
Ruby also owned a sweater shop in La Grande. She made her sweaters on a digital knitting loom and sold them in her shop. Ruby was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Jerry of Kennewick, Washington; daughter, Pricilla Stark; two sons; and two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
