Jerry Rickman, was always willing to share advice, stories, constructive criticism, harshness AND tenderness. I enjoyed even the harshness, as he had a way of making me laugh while hearing and receiving it. And then he would turn it into mostly humorous advice LOL. I'm pretty sure he spent a lot of hours while driving the BIG ROAD conjuring up those one liners that made a person laugh, pause, ponder and wonder, "what did he just say???" then laugh again. His big ole laugh is soooo extremely recognizable and memorable. I am even smiling thru tears hearing him in my Heart. I could allllways count on a hug, encouragement and questions about how things were and how I was going to make them better. And then he'd say, "well let me ask you this....?" He was one of the few Manly Men in my life that was courageous enough and willing to share his honest feelings with me, though both of us have faults, he wasn't insecure about genuinely complimenting another man as he told me thru it Mark, you're still a GOOD man. He was one of the major people in my life that inspired me to sing again. I didn't have that much confidence in myself in that area of my life and I will be forever thankful for his short, sweet, strong messages of encouragement to inspire me to give it my best. In that short anecdote, I am sure it is true of hundreds of people that he encountered in his life. And THAT'S the point of my story. We had many deep conversations about life people faith and forgiveness... And he would always assure me that his Lord and Savior is Jesus Christ. And that's why I am easily fighting off these tears for missing a friend that I wish I was able to spend more time with. I will get to see him again. I Love You Jerry, to you I dedicate some songs I will sing in your remembrance, signed with Love and Respect, your proxy son, proxy nephew, proxy brother and Real Friend, mark stratton
