I commend the recent Observer article on District Attorney Kelsie McDaniel's scheme to remove our elected circuit judge from all criminal cases. It is clear that her attempts to disqualify the judge were not based on fact (quite the opposite — the "facts" were fabricated) but on a perception of bias.

It's clear to me that the bias here is McDaniel's. The District Attorney's office guiding principles say they "will treat all people with ... honesty and fairness" and "provide all people with ethical ... service." And, "we will hold all people responsible for their action."

It's time for McDaniel to explain why she has not been honest, fair, ethical or accountable.
