Three games.

Three one-goal victories for the Eastern Oregon men’s soccer team.

Oscar Munoz scored in the 37th minute, Aidan Wright had four saves and the Mountaineers moved to 3-0-0 with their first shutout of the season, 1-0 over Puget Sound Tuesday in Tacoma, Washington.

It’s the first time this season EOU has scored the difference-making goal in the first half after a double overtime win in its season opener against Embry-Riddle and topping Whitman on a tiebreaking goal late in the second half.

The unassisted goal was also Munoz’s first of 2017.

Wright, meanwhile stopped everything that came his way. Three of his four saves came in the second half.

The victory gives EOU a five-game winning streak dating back to last season, which ties the longest in the program’s brief history. EOU’s other streak of five in a row came at the start of 2016 when the Mountaineers started 5-0-0.

Eastern Oregon travels to Whitworth for its final nonconference game Monday.
