WALLA WALLA — Following a postponement due to air quality earlier in the week, Whitman and Eastern Oregon squared off in a night matchup on Friday, Sept. 10.

The Mountaineers put together a huge second half to overcome the Blues 4-0.

It was neck and neck throughout the first half, with Eastern out-shooting Whitman but struggling to find the back of the net. Junior midfielder Brooke Ford broke the scoreless tie with a goal in the 43rd minute assisted by Mackinley Gregus.

The Mountaineers went into halftime with a narrow 1-0 lead, but broke the game wide open in the second half. Senior defender Yaya Mondragon scored a 48th minute goal off a Darby McDevitt assist that put the Mountaineers up 2-0.

Katie Arnold added another goal in the 57th minute and Alex Segeburg put the icing on the cake with a goal in the 84th minute to secure a 4-0 victory.

Up next for Eastern, the Mountaineers host No. 17 Westmont on Sept. 13
