The Eastern Oregon men's wrestling team followed up its effort in a dual against Southern Oregon by taking fifth at the Spokane Open Sunday.

Eastern scored 103.5 points in the tournament.

A.J. Rockwell led EOU by winning the 141-pound weight class by going a perfect 5-0, including exacting revenge on SOU’s Devin Poppen in the final with an 8-6 decision by sudden victory.

Blake McNall came in second at 133 with a 3-1 record, and fell in the final to Clackamas’ Elijah Ozuna by a 4-1 decision. Drake Randall also took second, going 4-1 at 157. He was edged in the final by MSU-Northern’s Brandon Weber, 7-6.

Jacob Posey went 5-1 to take third at 149, and KJ Swanson finished fourth at 165 with a 4-2 record.

The EOU women also took fifth with 57 points despite losing three wrestlers — Lisa Megargee, Amber Pair and Jessica DeHart — to injuries.

Alexis Cavero and Madison Bozovich both placed fourth for EOU at 155 and 170, respectively. Cavero recorded a 4-2 record, and Bozovich turned in a 2-2 mark. Megargee also took fourth at 101 despite dropping three matches, two due to injury.

Renay Monohan came in fifth at 143 with a 2-2 mark. Both Pair and DeHart finished in sixth place.

EOU is next up Dec. 1 at the Battle of the Rockies in Great Falls, Montana.
