Jessica DeHart won an individual title Sunday and two other Eastern Oregon University women’s wrestlers placed to help EOU to a fourth-place finish at the inaugural Cascade Collegiate Conference tournament in Ashland.

DeHart had to win only two matches to earn the 116-pound championship, defeating Southern Oregon’s Carolina Johnson by a 4-1 decision in the semifinals and pinning SOU’s Tara Othman late in the first round of the championship match.

Macy Higa won a pair of matches to place third at 130, with a win over Anesia Ramirez of Southern Oregon by fall in the third-place match, and Dempsi Talkington placed fourth at 155, dropping the third-place bout to SOU wrestler Olivia Pizano. 

EOU as a team scored 46.5 points. Menlo scored 166.5 to claim the team title. 

Eastern wraps up the season March 13-14 at the NAIA National Tournament in Jamestown, North Dakota.
