Caleb Lathrop led three Huskies in double figures with 17 points as Elgin finished 2-0 at the Elgin Lions Tournament with a 60-44 win over Wallowa Saturday. Ian Smith added 14 points for the Huskies and Brandon Howes chipped in with 13.

Chris Nobles led the Cougars, who dropped to 1-2, with 26 points. Nobles’ night included a 14-for-18 effort from the free-throw line.

Union 58, Crane 54: Keegan Glenn scored 27 points and recorded six steals, and the Bobcats held off Crane to win the Union Lions Tournament.

Jace Phillips added 11 points and Levi Cloutier had 10 for Union (2-0 overall). Union built an eight-point fourth-quarter lead with a strong second and third, then had enough late to keep the Mustangs at bay.

Imbler 35, Pine Eagle 12: Chance Goodman led with eight points as the Panthers (1-1 overall) won for the first time this season. Jayce Burnette added six points and eight rebounds.

The Panthers had a total of 29 rebounds and 13 steals.

Irrigon 59, Enterprise 49: The Outlaws suffered their first loss of the season to Class 3A Irrigon in their final game at the Ione Basketball Bonanza. Jimmy Wells had 15 points. Trent Walker had eight points.

La Grande JV 49, Cove 38: Cove was unable to hold onto a slim halftime lead in dropping its second game of the Union Lions Tournament.

Emilio Ortiz led Cove (0-2 overall) with 14 points, and Cameron Dillman added 12. Kaleb Myer had 21 to lead La Grande.

Joseph 65, Arlington 59, OT: Caevan Murray recorded 25 points and 15 rebounds as the Eagles (2-0 overall) fought to continue their winning streak by outscoring Arlington 9-3 in overtime. Jean Luc Palma had 17 points, Chase Murray added nine points.


Union 63, La Grande JV 39: Keegan Glenn scored 18 points to lead four Bobcats in double figures as Union pulled away from the La Grande JV at the Union Lions Tournament.

Ryan Shoemaker added a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Levi Cloutier and Tate Lantis had 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Enterprise 59, Ione 38: Jimmy Wells scored 14 points as the Outlaws earned their second victory of the season at the Ione Basketball Bonanza. Chris Bathke, Trent Walker and Rylie Hayward each added eight points.

Baker 43 JV, Imbler 24: Garrett Smith scored six points, but Imbler couldn’t bounce back from an early deficit. The Panthers hurt themsevles with 26 turnovers.

Crane 50, Cove 47: Cove rallied from a nine-point halftime deficit and led much of the fourth quarter, but couldn’t hold on in a loss at the Union Lions Tournament Friday.

Blake Witten scored 22 points and hit four 3-pointers to lead the Leopards. Landon Moore added 11 points.

Wallowa 53, Huntington 38: Chris Nobles led the way with 28 points as the Cougars scored 23 points in the third quarter to pull ahead as they earned their first win of the season.

Jordan Valley 57, Powder Valley 48: A 12-point halftime deficit was too much for Powder Valley to overcome as the Badgers lost for the first time this season.

Tanner Eubanks and Hunter Davis both scored 12 points for the Badgers (1-1 overall). Omar Benites added nine.

Elgin 48, Pine Eagle 27: Kaden McClure scored 16 points and hit five 3-pointers to lead Elgin to a victory during the team’s first game of the Elgin Lions Tournament.

Brandon Howes added 11 for the Huskies, who led 31-11 at the break and held the Spartans to just two first-half field goals.

Joseph 56, Glenwood/Klickitat (Wash.) 40: Caevan Murray scored 20 points and had 15 rebounds, Tyler Homan added 17 points as the Eagles took command in the final three quarters to win their season opener.
