VALE — The Tigers lost in three hard-fought sets to the Vale Vikings on the road on Monday, Sept. 13.

Vale won the three sets 25-21, 25-18 and 25-18. The loss drops La Grande to 2-2 on the year after the team got off to a 2-0 start. The win improves the Vikings’ record to 3-5.

The matchup against Vale concludes a streak of four straight non-league matchups, with the Tigers beginning Greater Oregon League play on Sept. 14 against McLoughlin. The match is set for 6:30 p.m. at La Grande High School.
